Crowdsourcing

Today in class we went over this neologism, founded in 2006.  As a classmate stated, “its a way a person or company asks the public for help.”  One example was when a 21-year old man saw the girl of his dreams in the subway.  He then set up a website with a sketch asking the public to help him find her.  The love-struck young man found her soon after!

Another example was when a Seattle soccer team let the fans buy shares in their company.  It is predicted a disaster, since fans will then have say in all facets of the club, including the lineup of the players and player transfers.
